Jack Wiebers (Lars-Göran Wiebers) is a German whisky importer and distributor based in Berlin (the official name of the company is Jack Wiebers Whisky World).
Wiebers began his career in 1999 and soon established a reputation as a formidable selector and publisher of whiskies. His portfolio includes several series, including Whisky Castle (discontinued in 2013), Old Train Line, Prenzlow Portfolio Collecton, Great Ocean Liners and Wanted (the latter reserved for the Bowmore single malt). Distilled in 2012, this Glenburgie spent eight years in bourbon cask no. 2317. Bottled at 58.5% abv in 2020 as part of The Scottish Malt's Steamship Line series, in an edition of just 156 bottles.
Aroma: slightly alcoholic, barley malt, vanilla, brown sugar, green apples, lemon peel, white pepper, notes of hay and oak.
Taste : sweet breakfast cereals, apples, pears, vanilla, caramel, a mixture of dried herbs, a touch of cinnamon and pepper and a light bitterness of oak.
Finish : medium long, malty, with notes of breakfast cereal, vanilla, country orchard fruit, pepper and oak.
