Product description
Dalwhinnie is the second highest distillery in Scotland after Braeval (326m above sea level). It began in 1897 as the Strathspey Distillery, using its current name since 1905.
The plant belongs to the Diageo group and can produce just over 2 million liters of distillate per year. The most famous version of the single malt is the 15-year-old, promoted since 1988 in the now historic Classic Malts series. In 2003, Dalwhinnie first appeared in the prestigious Diageo Special Releases series. It was a whisky distilled in 1973 and bottled in cask strength (57.8% abv) in an edition of 5,220 bottles. In recent years, Dalwhinnie sales have increased significantly, reaching 1.2 million bottles in 2017.
