Product description
Glenmorangie plc took over Ardbeg with its inventory in 1997 and after extensive renovations got it running again roughly a year later.
The 10 years old expression was introduced in 2000 and contained whiskies distilled by the previous owner (Allied Domecq). In 2008 the company had enough matured stock to introduce a new 10 year old, based entirely on spirit made after the distillery resumed operations. The whisky is aged in ex-bourbon barrels and cut to 46% abv prior to bottling. Ardbeg Ten is a signature of the Islay; some call it simply the ultimate Islay malt.
