Product description
Slane Whiskey debuted a few years ago and was originally a blend of malt and grain distillates from the Cooley Distillery. Its name refers to Slane Castle, owned by the Conyngham family.
In 2017, the Conynghams, in partnership with Brown-Forman, began building their own distillery, which began production in the summer of 2018. Slane Distillery is equipped with both stills and column stills and produces malt, pot still and grain whiskey. The Slane Triple Cask Whiskey presented here is a blend of single malt and single grain distillates from undisclosed Irish distilleries aged in three types of casks: new, heavily toasted Brown-Forman Cooperage casks, ex-bourbon and ex-Tennessee whiskey casks, and ex-Oloroso sherry casks.
Nose: mild, vanilla, honey, milk fudge, roasted peanuts, apples, banana cake, notes of cocoa and hay.
Taste: true to the aroma, vanilla, honey, toffee, caramel, bananas, greengages, raisins, milk chocolate and a touch of sherry.
Finish: medium long, slightly nutty, with notes of sherry, honey, vanilla and cinnamon.
