Product description
Knappogue Castle is an Irish whiskey brand from the Castle Brands Inc. portfolio.
It was created by Mark Andrews III, founder of Great Spirits. His father, Mark Edwin Andrews, a great advocate of Irish whiskey, purchased Knappogue Castle in County Clare in the 1960s. He bought barrels of whiskey from producers and gave the bottled spirits to neighbors and family. (Mark Edwin Andrews was a naval officer, undersecretary of state in President Truman's administration, and an oil investor.) Knappogue Castle 12 years old is a triple-distilled single malt aged in bourbon barrels, in our opinion from Bushmills Distillery. This whiskey is released on the market with different alcohol content, in the case of the edition presented here it is 43%. In October 2019, Castle Brands became the property of Pernod Ricard.
