Kilbeggan Distilling Company is an Irish company founded in 1757 with the opening of the Kilbeggan Distillery, one of two distilleries currently part of the company.
Opened in 1757, the distillery is located in the central Irish town of the same name and is the oldest whiskey distillery in Ireland. The second distillery is Cooley, founded by John Teeling in 1987. Located in County Louth, Ireland, the distillery produces both grain and malt whiskey. It also blends, which results in blended whiskey. The company is part of the Beam Suntory group, which was acquired in April 2014 with the acquisition of Beam Inc. by Suntory Holdings. The main whiskey brands produced at Kilbeggan Distilling Company are Kilbeggan, Connemara, Tyrconnel and 2 Gingers.
Connemara is a peated Irish whiskey produced at the Cooley distillery, part of the Kilbeggan Distilling Company.
Aroma: Light and fresh, accents of citrus and apples intertwine with light smoke and delicate medical notes, as well as a cereal-like sweetness.
Taste : Smooth and creamy, with delicate earthy notes, bitter smoke, accents of citrus, spices and caramel.
Finish: Medium long, smoky, with notes of dark chocolate and pepper.
