Dé Danann is one of the latest offerings from Amber Beverage Group.
The company is based in Luxembourg, was founded in 2014, and in 2021 joined the producers of Irish whiskey by acquiring the assets of Walsh Whiskey Company, producer of popular brands The Irishman and Writers Tears. The name Dé Danann refers to Celtic mythology, specifically to the Tuatha dé Dannan tribe, who ruled Ireland for centuries and were a link between the inhabitants of the earth and the afterlife. Dé Danann is a standard blend, a blend of triple-distilled malt and grain whiskeys, aged exclusively in American oak barrels.
Nose: honeyed cereals, vanilla, brown sugar, apples, grapes, lemon peel, a pinch of pepper, notes of hay and oak.
Palate: fruit candies, breakfast cereals, vanilla, sugared peanuts, apples, pears, a hint of lemongrass, pepper and oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, milk fudge, brown sugar, a trace of summer fruits and oak.
