Product description
WhistlePig is a brainchild of Raj Peter Bhakta, investment banker and entrepreneur and Dave Pickerell, ex-master distiller at Maker’s Mark.
The original batch was released in 2010 and earned phenomenal reviews. The whisky, 100% rye, was sourced from Jim Beam owned Alberta Distillery in Canada and bottled in Vermont on WhistlePig farm. In an interview that followed the launch Bhakta and Pickerell joked that they rescued the precious stock “from its cringeworthy misuse as a blending whiskey”. In the fall of 2015 a distilling facility has been installed at WhistlePig farm, which is also growing hundreds of acres of rye to use for whiskey production. Slowly but surely WhistlePig is becoming “grain to glass” operation and using Vermont oak for aging gives it upmost individuality.
