Product description
The term "Angel's share" is probably familiar to every whisky lover, while "Angel's envy" refers to the distillate remaining in the cask after the angels have collected the "dividend" (in the US 4-5% per year).
Angel's Envy was launched by Louisville Distilling Company in 2010, driven by Lincoln Henderson, a long-time master distiller for Brown-Forman, who created Gentleman Jack and Woodford Reserve. After a basic maturation, the bourbon is finished in port barrels for 3 to 6 months. Angel's Envy was very well received by the market, but Henderson's death in 2013 and a lawsuit over the rights to the brand between his widow and son led to its acquisition by Bacardi in 2015.
