Product description
There is no record today stating when exactly Black Bush was introduced. Originally named Bushmills Liqueur Whiskey, and designed to be heavy dram to counterbalance the lightness of White Bush.
However, the whiskey was presented with a dark label, and customers immediately called it Black Bush, and the name stuck. It enjoyed modest popularity in Ireland in the 1960s, but its reputation was well established in the late 20th Century. Black Bush contains a high proportion of Bushmills malt whiskey aged in ex-Oloroso sherry casks and grain whiskey from Middleton Distillery. In 2022 Bushmills extended the Black Bush range with 80/20 PX sherry Cask Reserve. The new expression comprises 80% single malt whiskey aged in bourbon and PX sherry casks and 20% grain whiskey aged in bourbon barrels. The whiskey is available exclusively in Travel Retail.
