Proper No. Twelve is a brand of Irish whiskey owned by MMA fighter Conor McGregor and produced by his Eire Born Spirits Company.

The man who approved the whiskey formula is David Elder, a former manager of Bushmills Distillery hired by McGregor to evaluate almost a hundred samples submitted. The whiskey’s name refers to the whiskey’s birthplace – a Dublin suburb called Crumlin, with a postcode of Dublin 12. Proper No. Twelve is a standard Irish blend, a blend of triple-distilled malt and grain whiskeys aged for at least three years in white American oak barrels, bottled at 40% abv.

Aroma: light and fresh, vanilla, honey, freshly cut grass, damp straw, apples, pears and a pinch of pepper.

Taste: slightly alcoholic, grainy, green apples, vanilla, notes of caramel and honey, a bit of ginger and pepper and some oak in the background.

Finish: not too long, with notes of cereal, hay, green apples, vanilla, pepper and oak.
