Product description
No one today knows when White Bush (officially called Bushmills Original) debuted, nor is it clear whether it was originally a single malt or blended whiskey.
The distillery office was destroyed during World War II and the chance of solving this mystery is getting slimmer and slimmer. We know that in the late 1940s White Bush was a blend and was enjoying popularity both in Ireland and in Europe and overseas. In the early 1970s it was the best selling Irish whiskey in the US, although the category represented only 0.006% of the whiskey market in this country. Today's Bushmills Original is a blend of triple distilled Bushmills single malt and grain whiskey from the Midleton distillery, aged on average for three to five years almost exclusively in bourbon casks.
