There are no clear records, as to when the Green Spot brand was introduced; it is certain that it was part of Mitchell & Son, the Dublin wine merchants, portfolio in 1920. Originally the whiskey was distilled at Jameson Distillery in Dublin and aged in ex-sherry casks for 7 to 10 years. As time went by the company extended the range with Yellow Spot (12 years old) and Red Spot (15 years old). Currently Pernod Ricard owns the brand and whiskey is distilled from malted and un-malted barley at Midleton Distillery. Green Spot doesn’t carry age statement; the company claims that it has been aged for 7 to 10 years in ex-bourbon (first fill and refill) and ex-sherry casks.
