Product description
Writer’s Tears is a unique brand of Irish whiskey created by Bernard and Rosemary Walsh in 2009.
It is a vatting of single pot still (60%) and single malt (40%) whiskeys, all triple-distilled and aged in white American oak casks. Writer’s Tears and The Irishman (another whiskey from the Walshes portfolio) were a tremendous success and in 2014 they started building their own distillery in Royal Oak, county Carlow in partnership with Illva Saronno. Unfortunately the partnership was dissolved five years later with the Italian company keeping ownership of the distillery. At that point we are not certain if the Walshes will focus on bottling sourced whiskey or they plan to build another distillery.
