Hepburn's Choice is a line of whiskies from the Hunter Laing & Company portfolio, with editions signed by Langside Distillers, its subsidiary.

The series is a nod to William Hepburn, the Laing brothers' maternal grandfather, a diplomat and whisky connoisseur. In September 2020, Hunter Laing changed the graphic design of the series, reserving a specific color for the region from which the release comes. The Caol Ila presented here, distilled in 2020, spent 10 years in two bourbon barrels and was bottled in 2020 in an edition of 639 bottles. Hepburn's Choice editions are most often from single barrels and bottled at 46% abv, without chill filtration and with a natural color.

Nose: peat smoke, iodine, damp shells, oysters, lemon peel, green apples, pears, pine needles, vanilla, breakfast cereals and a little oak.

Palate: peat smoke, seaweed salad, vanilla salt, toffee, apples, lemons, white pepper, lemongrass and a light oak note.

Finish: medium long, with notes of peat smoke, vanilla, caramel, salted nuts, smoked fish and oak.
