Product description
The Grouse blend was created in 1896 by Matthew Gloag, a Perth based grocer and beverage merchant, grandson of the founder of Matthew Gloag & Son, who just inherited the family business.
By 1905 Gloag’s whisky has become very popular and the creator decided to add word “Famous” to the name and The Famous Grouse brand was born. Today The Famous Grouse is a global brand and the most popular blended whisky in Scotland. In the early 1970s the brand’s ownership was passed to Highland Distillers & Co, which in turn was taken over by The Edrington Group in 1999. It is worth to mention that the key malts in the Famous Grouse formula are Highland Park, Macallan, Glenrothes and Glenturret.
