Product description
Hankey Bannister & Co. was founded in 1757 by Beaumont Hankey and Hugh Bannister. The company quickly established itself in the wine market, but the first trace of a whisky bearing its name was not found until 1882.
Hankey Bannister was the favourite whisky of King George V (from whom it received the so-called Royal Warrant) and Prime Minister Winston Churchill. The Heritage Blend presented here is a replica of whisky from the years 1924-1928 blended by Stuart Harvey, the master blender of Inver House, based on a perfectly preserved original. In his creation, the master added a small amount of smoke-peat whisky to recreate the profile of the blend from the 1920s. In 2014, Hankey Bannister Heritage Blend won a gold medal at the International Wine & Spirits Competition. 5 thousand cases of this whisky were released on the market.
Aroma: a breath of earth and delicate smoky notes, green apples, bitter orange jam, vanilla, caramel, milk fudge and a handful of herbs from the garden.
Palate : toffee, honey, caramel, raisins, plums, dark chocolate, cinnamon, pepper, almonds and a fading hint of smoke.
Finish: quite long, with notes of dried fruit, dark chocolate, pepper and oak.
