The Deacon Blended Scotch Whiskey / 40% / 0.7l

Deacon Whisky debuted in February 2023 and is the result of cooperation between Sovereign Brands, a distributor of alcoholic beverages, and Pernod Ricard (two years earlier, the company acquired a minority stake in Sovereign).

Sovereign Brands was founded in 1999 by Brett and Brian Berish; its portfolio includes Bumbu rum and McQueen and the Violet Fog gin. The Deacon is the company's first whisky, a blend featuring Speyside and Islay single malts. The presentation of the whisky, inspired by copper stills, and its unique label catch the eye. Its name (Deacon) refers to the Scottish interpretation of the word, which means a master of his craft.

Nose : slightly peaty, sweet cereals, vanilla, honey, dried apples and pears, graham crackers and a trace of dried herbs.

Palate: mild, brown sugar, vanilla, honey, green apples, grapefruit juice, white pepper, notes of peat and toasted oak.

Finish : medium long, with notes of cereal, brown sugar, apples, herbal spice and peat.
