Product description
The Devil's Punchbowl is a three-part edition of Arran initiated in the summer of 2012 and completed exactly 2 years later.
The whisky was made from "devilishly good barrels". The second batch dedicated to "Angels and Devils" was based on the contents of 27 barrels (17 sherry barrels filled in 1997-1998 and 10 bourbon barrels filled in 2002 and 2004, of which 4 contained "peated" distillate). The whisky was released in its natural form in the amount of 6660 bottles, and each one was accompanied by detailed information about the barrels. Devil's Punchbowl ( Coire na Ciche in Gaelic , and "diabelska czapza" in Polish ) is the name of a glacial depression on the Isle of Arran.
Nose: slightly more grassy tones than in the first version, but stronger sherry notes, bananas, oranges, marzipan, traces of tobacco and peat smoke.
Palate : rich, sweet breakfast cereals, dried fruit, ginger, nutmeg, quite strong notes of nuts, sherry and peat.
Finish: a beautiful balance of citrus and spices wrapped in peat smoke.
