The Longmorn distillery, built in 1894 by John Duff, is owned by Chivas Bros, part of Pernod Ricard.
The eight-still facility produces around 4.5 million litres of distillate per year, the vast majority of which goes into the Chivas Regal 18 year old and Chivas Royal Salute blends. The Dun Eideann edition presented here was distilled in November 2003 and aged for 14 years in cask no. HL 14681. The edition consisted of 290 bottles. Dun Eideann Scotch Whisky Co. was established in 1995 as a subsidiary of Signatory Vintage; its whisky editions are intended for export, mainly to France, Italy, Spain and Switzerland. Dunn Eideann (Dùn Èideann) is the Gaelic name for the capital of Scotland, Edinburgh.
Aroma : honey, vanilla, orange peel, marzipan, cherries, bananas, sweet breakfast cereals, cinnamon, cloves, notes of hay, wax and oak.
Palate: vanilla, milkshake, honey nuts, cinnamon-dusted apple pie, orange peel, limoncello, candied ginger, lemongrass and oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of honey, vanilla, apples and oranges, white pepper, cinnamon and oak.
