Product description
The huge success of the Arran single malt encouraged the owners not only to double the distillery's production capacity, but also to build a new one, the Lagg Distillery, in the south of the island.
Construction began in February 2017, and the first distillate flowed from the stills in March 2019. Lagg is equipped with a single pair of stills and has a capacity of 750,000 litres of distillate per year; it is also where Arran Distillers distills a smoky and peaty whisky. Lagg Kilmory is to be the entry-level version of this single malt. Distilled from the Concerto variety, it spent over three years in bourbon casks. The Isle of Arran is now a whisky “mecca” with over 100,000 whisky lovers visiting each year; Arran Distillers hopes to double that number in the coming years.
