Product description
Jura 10 years old has been part of the distillery's core offering for over 30 years, but until the end of the 20th century it could not complain about excess popularity.
Things took a different turn in the new millennium, thanks to the decision of Richard Paterson, the master blender of Whyte & Mackay, who, not entirely satisfied with the maturation of the local distillates, ordered a large part of the warehouse stock to be transferred to new barrels. The brand's sales increased to 2 million bottles, which means a five-fold increase in less than a decade. Since spring 2018, the basic Jura offer includes 10-, 12- and 18-year-old versions, as well as Journey and Seven Wood. The current Jura 10 years old is a whisky matured in white American oak barrels and finished in Oloroso sherry barrels. We add two tasting glasses to the bottle.
Nose : soft, cereals with honey, lemons, oranges, peaches, hay, a hint of forest floor, vanilla, caramel and a distant note of smoke.
Palate: sweet cereals, apples, toffee, vanilla, caramel, salted nuts, a pinch of pepper and a delicate bitterness of oak.
Finish: medium long, malty, with notes of pepper, hay, vanilla, oak and a distant trace of smoke.
