Product description
Talisker 10 yo is a great choice for all lovers of smoky flavours with a clearly noticeable peat character, but not only for them.
Talister 10 is the trademark of the oldest distillery operating on the Isle of Skye – Talister, founded in 1830. Matured in American oak barrels for a minimum of 10 years, it is characterised by a very well-balanced aroma and flavour, with a distinctly maritime profile. The entire Isle of Skye, the most remote, windswept and equally beautiful landscape in Scotland, is enclosed in the bottle.
The Talisker distillery was founded in 1830 by brothers Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill. The name comes from the Talisker House estate, leased from the MacLeod clan. Initially, whisky was produced here using the triple distillation method typical of the Lowlands. In 1928, the process was converted to double distillation, which became the standard for Scottish single malts. Talisker, the only distillery on Skye until 2017, is an iconic representation of the islands. Talisker 10 Year Old debuted in the 1980s as part of the Classic Malts of Scotland series, representing the island region (Skye, Jura, Arran). In the design, each whisky symbolized a different region of Scotland: Lagavulin 16 Year Old (Islay), Dalwhinnie 15 Year Old (Highlands), Cragganmore (Speyside), Oban (West Highlands), Glenkinchie (Lowlands).
