Highland Park Distillery, based in Kirkwall, is the older of Orkney's two whisky producers (established in 1798).

Equipped with two pairs of stills, the distillery produces almost 2.5 million liters of distillate annually. For many, Highland Park is considered synonymous with quality, which is confirmed by the sales dynamics - in less than a decade, it doubled and in 2019 exceeded 2.2 million bottles. Highland Park Viking Heart 15 years old is a creation of master distiller Gordon Motion from 2021, composed mainly of distillates aged in first-fill sherry barrels (European oak), with a small addition of refill barrels. Highland Park Viking Heart debuted presented in a ceramic carafe designed by Wade Ceramics, inspired by the stone vessels in which whisky was stored in Orkney centuries ago; these are now the brand's classic bottles.

Nose : rich, heather honey, crème brûlée, orange peel, pineapple, cantaloupe, cinnamon buns, nougat, a hint of vanilla and a distant hint of smoke.

Palate : pronounced sherry notes, candied lemon and orange peel, pineapples, yeast cake, raisins, vanilla, honey, marzipan, cinnamon, nutmeg and subtle smoke in the background.

Finish : quite long, with notes of honey, toffee, raisins, orange jam, cinnamon, oak, sherry and sweet smoke.
