Claude Chatelier is the cognac brand from Maison Ferrand, one of the world’s premier boutique producers of fine spirits, which are distributed in 68 countries around the world.
The company was founded by Alexandre Gabriel in 1989 with a mission to preserve age-old artisan production methods while advancing innovation. Maison Ferrand has co-ownership of the 247-acre vineyard Logis d’Angeac and its distillery nested in the heart of Grande Champagne dates back to 1776. The company also produces Citadelle Gin and Plantation rums. Claude Chatelier XO is a blend of eaux-de-vies distilled from grapes from Grande Champagne cru and aged for a minimum of ten years.
Nose: vanilla, honey, hazelnuts, bunch of dried flowers, black cherries, apricots, plums, hints of tobacco and leather and pretty strong oaky notes.
Palate: very smooth, oranges, nectarines, dried figs, prunes, vanilla, milk chocolate, roasted almonds, oak and touch of tobacco.
Finish: long and pretty oaky, with notes of vanilla, chocolate, dried fruits and dash of mixed spice.
