Product description
Martell is the oldest of the so-called great cognac houses. Its history begins in 1715, when Jean Martell, a native of Jersey, landed in the Cognac region with a mission to produce eaux-de-vie of the highest quality.
In 1988, Martell became the property of the Canadian concern Seagram (for 850 million dollars), and is currently owned by Pernod Ricard. The brand's annual sales amount to 2.6 million cases (2018), which places it in second place in the cognac category after Hennessy. Martell Cohiba Cognac, a joint project of Martell and Habanos Cigars, debuted in the spring of 2006. Its creation uses eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne district aged from 40 to 55 years. Needless to say, it tastes best with a well-aged Cohiba cigar.
