In 1852 two brothers, Lucien and Sylvestre Moullon, founded their cognac company in the town of Cognac.
Soon they launched the Moullon brand, which was a great success. When the brothers passed away in the 1890s the company was taken over by Auguste Chagnaud, who kept the name Moullon. About 100 years later the brand was acquired by A.C. Meukow & Co. and is produced and marketed by them to this day. Moullon Grande Champagne Cognac is composed from eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne growing area, aged for a minimum of two years in new and old French oak barrels, with the majority of the latter.
Nose: light, floral and fruity, bunch of wild flowers, cherries, pears, vanilla, honey, walnut shells, hints of white pepper and ginger.
Palate: dried pears and apricots, red apples, vanilla, caramel, lemon peel, white pepper, hints of licorice and cinnamon.
Finish: medium long, mildly fruity, with notes of vanilla, brown sugar, cinnamon, licorice, and little oak.
