Product description
The history of Bache Gabrielsen cognac begins in 1095; two Norwegians, Thomas Bache-Gabrielsen and Peter Rustad, purchase the A. Edmond Dupuy company and change its name to Rustad & Bache-Gabrielsen.
Thomas soon married a local girl from a "cognac" family and when Peter suddenly died in 1916 he became sole owner of the company. The company remains family-owned to this day, with Hervé Bache-Gabrielsen, Thomas's great-grandson, as its president. Bache Gabrielsen XO is a blend of eaux-de-vie distilled from Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche grapes from the Petite Champagne and Grande Champagne growing districts and aged for 10 to 30 years in Limousin oak barrels. The cognac is presented in an elegant bottle with a thick bottom.
