The story of Larsen cognac dates back to 1926. Jens Reidar Larsen, 24 years old Norwegian, boarded ship destined for America in 1919.
But a long stopover in Bordeaux to repair the boat changed his destiny; Jens Reidar tried to make some money and found a job in a small town of Charente famous for the quality of its eaux-de-vie. He soon married a local girl and became an expert on Cognac. Today the third generation of the family runs the business officially called Le Cognac des Vikings S.A. Larsen V.S. is the youngest cognac in the Larsen’s age. It is a blend of various eaux-de-vie distilled from Ugni Blanc variety in various growing areas. It scored silver medal at the 2016 and 2017 International World Spirits Competition.
Nose: smooth, apple blossom, apricots, nectarines, oranges, hints of vanilla and toffee, touch of allspice and oak.
Palate: fresh and fruity, apricots, grapes, orange peel, vanilla, butterscotch, milk chocolate, dash of mixed spice and oak.
Finish: fairly long, with notes of summer fruit, vanilla, dash of fresh herbs and subtle oakiness.
