- The Millars Irish whiskey brand origins lie in Adam Millar & Company established in Dublin in 1843.
Product description
Millars whiskey has its roots in 1843, with Dublin-based Adam Millar & Company. It was a premium whiskey available until around the late 1960s.
The whisky earned the title of Classic Dublin Sipping Whiskey, meaning it was perfect for contemplative sipping, preferably next to a glass of Guinness. In 1987, the rights to the Millars brand were acquired by Cooley Distillery, but it was not until September 1994 that it returned to the market as Millars Black Label. In early 1996, its name was changed to Millars Special Reserve. Some of the grain whiskey used in the blend was aged in sherry casks.
