Product description
O'Kanagan Very Rare is a standard blended Irish whiskey produced by Cooley Distillery in the 1990s for the Dutch company Toorank BV.
Toorank is a distributor and marketer of alcoholic beverages, and also has distilleries in the Netherlands and Poland. John Teeling started production in Cooley in 1987, but after a few years the company found itself in financial trouble; it was close to bankruptcy and takeover by the Irish Distillers Group. Fortunately, Teeling managed to sign distribution contracts with companies in Europe and the States and at the turn of the century regained financial liquidity. O'Kanagan Very Rare was blended from Cooley malt and grain distillates aged in American oak barrels for an average of five years. The brand disappeared from the market at the beginning of the new century.
