Product description
Matsui Shuzo Distillery, built in 1910, is located in Tottori Prefecture in southwestern Honshu.
It is part of Matsui Breweries, a producer of sake and shōchu. The company offers malt whisky under the Kurayoshi brand and grain and blended whisky as Tottori. Little is known about the formula of the blend presented here, except that it is a blend of malt and grain distillates from Japan and Scotland and aged for at least three years in bourbon barrels. A similar practice is completely legal in Japan.
The blend is made at the Matsui Shuzo distillery, and once completed, the spirit is diluted with local, exceptionally pure water, filtered through volcanic rocks, and bottled without cold filtration.
