Product description
According to the IWSR (International Wine & Spirits Record) report, sales of Japanese whisky (malt and blended) grew by about 47% per year between 2014 and 2019. New brands are constantly debuting, and the number of distilleries producing whisky has increased to 27. Shinobu Distillery is still under construction, but its blender Ken Usami has already created several "brands". One of them, The Shin (the word translates from Japanese to "righteousness"), is a blended malt whisky made from distillates aged in bourbon and sherry barrels and finished in Mizunara oak barrels. (Mizunara is one of the rarest and most expensive varieties of oak used in cooperage; the tree is eligible for felling after at least 200 years.) In 2021, The Shin 15 years old won a gold medal at the International Spirits Competition in Melbourne.
