Product description
Taketsuru Pure Malt debuted in the Nikka Distilling Company offering in November 2000 with the 12 years old edition.
Less than half a year later, the 17 and 21 year old editions joined, which would win the title of best whisky outside Scotland several times in the World Whisky Awards poll organized by the editors of "Whisky Magazine". The whisky bears the name of Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of the company and one of the two pioneers of Japanese whisky, and is a blend of single malts from its own distilleries, Nikka and Miyagikyo. In 2015, due to a lack of sufficient stock, Nikka was forced to temporarily withdraw all age-statement editions of Taketsuru from its basic offer, leaving only the non-age-statement version presented here.
