Product description
Ichiro Akuto's Chichibu Distillery began operations in the spring of 2008 and was the first Japanese distillery built in the new millennium. The Akuto family produced whisky from 1946 to 2000 at Hanyu Distillery.
After its closure, Ichiro took over the remaining 400 barrels of whiskey, which he soon released as Ichiro's Card Series. The "Card Series" turned out to be a hit on the market, and also provided the capital to build Chichibu. Its collector's value is constantly growing, in August 2019, at an auction in Hong Kong, it found a buyer for $917,000. Chichibu produces only 60,000 liters of distillate of various profiles per year. Ichiro's the Peated returned to the market in 2022 after a 4-year break. The whiskey was aged in bourbon barrels (with a small addition of sherry barrels), and the edition consisted of 11,000 bottles.
