Fujimi Blended Japanese Whiskey 7 years old / 40%/ 0.7l
- The Fujimi blended whisky is another offering from Matsui Shuzo Distillery, producer of Kurayoshi and Tottori brands.
Product description
Fujimi blended whisky is another offering from Matsui Shuzo Distillery, after Tottori and Kurayoshi.
While the name of the whisky, “7 Samurai Values,” and its presentation are uncompromisingly Japanese, the whisky itself has its roots in Scotland, and was “naturalized” in Japan. Fujimi is bottled without an age statement, but we’ve managed to determine that its components were aged in American white oak barrels for at least three years. Matsui Shuzo Distillery, built in 1910, is located in Tottori Prefecture in southwestern Honshu. It is part of Matsui Breweries, a producer of sake and shōchu.
Aroma: fruity and cereal, breakfast cereals, bananas, apples, a bouquet of dry flowers, herbal and oak notes.
Palate: baked apples and plantains, cereals, ginger, cinnamon, some young oak and herbal spices.
Finish: medium long, fruity and spicy, an extension of the flavor palette.
