Product description
High Commissioner is a standard blend from the portfolio of Loch Lomond Group, owner of the Loch Lomond, Glen Scotia and the now-closed Littlemill distilleries.
Although the label states that this whisky debuted in 1856, its history is shrouded in mystery. It was not until the 1970s that its position on the market was established, all we know is that before the Loch Lomond Distillery installed a distillation column, the single grain whisky used in the blend was supplied by Strathclyde Distillery. At the end of the first decade of the new century, the High Commissioner recorded record sales of one million cases per year, in 2016 it fell to 625 thousand cases, which places it in 24th place in the statistics of Scottish blended sales. In the same year, this whisky won a silver medal at the International Wine & Spirits Competition.
