Dewar's 8 year old Caribbean Smooth / 40% / 0.7l

Dewar's is one of the most popular Scottish blends, and has been the number 1 Scotch whisky on the American market for years.

Recently, the brand's sales have fallen slightly (in 2018, it was 2.8 million cases), to which the owner responded by increasing the offer in the premium segment. Dewar's Caribbean Smooth is the latest creation of blending master Stephanie Mcleod, and the first in a series of "finishes" of this blend. This 8-year-old whisky has spent the last six months in Caribbean rum barrels, which gave it a light tropical flavor. The Dewar's blend formula lists around 40 single malts, the key ones being Aberfeldy and Craigellachie.

Aroma: mild, fruity, caramel, sweet cereals, cappuccino, apples, pineapples, a bit of coconut milk and sweet spices.  

Palate: mild and sweet, caramel, vanilla, white chocolate, milk fudge, coconut ice cream, tropical fruit salad and subtle notes of oak.

Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, brown sugar, orange peel, coconut flakes and oak.
