Product description
Angel’s Envy is a brainchild of late Lincoln Henderson († 2013), Brown-Forman master distiller for 40 years, creator of Gentleman Jack and Woodford Reserve.
Lincoln retired in 2004 and almost immediately started new enterprise Louisville Distilling Company. His idea was to create double aged bourbon and after few years of experiments he chose port casks for the finishing maturation. Angel’s Envy brand debuted in the late 2010; after spending 4 to 6 years in new charred American oak barrels the bourbon (most likely Old Forester) is transferred into French oak ruby port casks for additional 3 to 6 months. The cask strength expression was added to the range in 2012, the one presented here is part of 2016 limited release of 8000 bottles.
