Product description
The history of the brand dates back to the 18th century, when an English merchant, Thomas Osborne Mann, came to Cadiz to develop the wine trade. He gradually acquired various vineyards in el Puerto de Santa María, eventually uniting them under the Osborne brand. The famous company logo, Toro de Osborne, was created in 1956. To ensure brand recognition, José Antonio Osborne and José Luis Gómez Bermúdez travelled around Spain looking for the best places to place their billboards. Over the years, Spanish regulations regarding the distance of advertisements from main roads have become increasingly strict, so the bulls have been moved further away from the roadway, while at the same time they have been enlarged. In 1988, a law was passed that banned all advertising on and around motorways, but after public pressure, Osborne bulls were exempted from this ban, arguing that it had been integrated with the Spanish landscape for many years.
Today, Osborne is a large business group, still paying great attention to the wines it produces and their quality. The company is run on the principles of sustainable development, good corporate governance practices and places great importance on respecting the natural environment, so that the vines mature in a sustainable way and at the same time the production is carried out in the most neutral way.
Very well made Tawny port. It consists of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Barroca. It is produced using the traditional method for port, where fermentation is stopped by adding high-proof wine alcohol when the wine reaches the required level of sweetness. The wines used for production matured for different periods of time, the average ageing time for all is 10 years. The nose is very classic and elegant, developing notes of dried fruit perfectly match the aromas of nuts and almonds. On the palate, slightly strong, with well-integrated flavors. The finish is long and clear, with a noticeable aftertaste of cinnamon and spices.
It tastes best when served at a temperature of 12-14 degrees. It is worth doing this to get to know the flavors and aromas combined with harmony and finesse in their presentation. In culinary combinations, it works well with chocolate and nut-based desserts, as well as with cheeses, even the more aromatic ones.
