Then in 1750 they moved to Vila Nova de Gaia and began exporting port to Great Britain and Europe. Over the years the company has developed, having good and bad moments, largely dictated by the geopolitical situation and ongoing wars, although its philosophy has remained unchanged to this day. It has also remained in the hands of one family all this time, thanks to which knowledge and experience are passed down from generation to generation, resulting in products of the highest quality, gaining recognition all over the world.
In 1992, the company also began producing wines under the DOC Douro appellation, which quickly gained acceptance around the world like port. Burmester places great emphasis on the unique character of its wines, thanks to which it offers characteristic products that are suitable for every occasion – private and professional.
Burmester Ruby Porto
Wine made from traditional varieties such as Touriga, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barocca, Tinta Roriz. The grapes used for production were harvested by hand, then vinified and macerated in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The blend consists of wines from different harvests, aged in stainless steel and wooden barrels for at least 3 years. On the nose it is very fresh, but at the same time elegant, full of aromas of freshly harvested grapes with a touch of red fruit and a floral accent. On the palate it also strikes with its youth and freshness, developing intensively towards the flavors of red fruit with a touch of vanilla. The finish is long and intense, with a pleasant sweetness.
It tastes best when served at a temperature of 16-18 degrees. In culinary combinations, it works particularly well with desserts based on red fruits, medium-heavy and intense. It will also go well with good quality, medium-aromatic cheeses.
