Bodegas Williams & Humbert has been on the market for over 140 years, as one of the most prestigious wine producers in the world. It was founded in 1877 by Sir Alexander Williams, a great lover of sherry, and Arthur Humbert, a specialist in international relations. Another name that appears in the history of the company is Medina and four brothers, who in the 1960s decided to direct their efforts to creating their own winery, as they had already gained experience working in many different vineyards in Jerez. The business strategies adopted allowed the company to develop very dynamically, thanks to which it was able to buy important brands in the world of wine, thus increasing its portfolio and its capabilities.
Today, Williams & Humbert has a very large estate at its headquarters (the largest wine cellar in Europe) and is present in over 80 countries worldwide. Two generations of winemakers work together with an energetic team to create great wines, respecting the tradition and culture of viticulture, and ensuring the company's continuous development from a business perspective.
Jalifa Amontilado Sherry 30 years old / 20% / 0.5l
A wonderful amontillado sherry made from 100% Palomino Fino. Produced in the traditional method, and aged in the "Soleras y Criaderas" system, where it is initially aged under flor in oak barrels for a minimum of 8 years, then undergoes a slow oxidation for 22 years before being finally released on the market. On the nose it is very complex and harmonious, with aromas of dried fruit and hazelnuts. On the palate it is round and perfectly balanced, presenting very well integrated flavors of nuts and a touch of spice, combined with a well-balanced acidity and elegance. The finish is long and pleasant, with a lingering nutty aftertaste.
It tastes best when served at a temperature of 12-14 degrees. It is worth following this rule, because then we can get to know all the flavors of the wine with the appropriate harmony and elegance. In culinary combinations, it works well with white meats, cold cuts, or hard cheeses with the addition of nuts.
