Then in 1750 they moved to Vila Nova de Gaia and began exporting port to Great Britain and Europe. Over the years the company has developed, having good and bad moments, largely dictated by the geopolitical situation and ongoing wars, although its philosophy has remained unchanged to this day. It has also remained in the hands of one family all this time, thanks to which knowledge and experience are passed down from generation to generation, resulting in products of the highest quality, gaining recognition all over the world.
In 1992, the company also began producing wines under the DOC Douro appellation, which quickly gained acceptance around the world like port. Burmester places great emphasis on the unique character of its wines, thanks to which it offers characteristic products that are suitable for every occasion – private and professional.
Burmester Late Bottled Vintage
Wine made from the Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz and Sousão varieties. After manual harvesting, the grapes are vinified and macerated in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, with continuous beating to extract the maximum amount of color, aromas and tannins. Bottled 4 to 6 years after harvest. On the nose it is fresh and quite delicate, not devoid of elegance, with notes of blackberries and red fruits, combined with accents of eucalyptus and mint. On the palate it is well balanced and soft, well combining the flavors of wild fruits with fresh acidity. The finish is long and pleasantly sweet.
It tastes best served at a temperature of 16-18 degrees. In culinary combinations, it will work well with chocolate-based desserts, but also those with the addition of yellow and red fruits. It will go well with high-quality cheeses of medium intensity.
