Crucial Drinks is a company based in Scotland, located at the Dumfries House Estate.
The company is probably better known as a bottler of blended malt Scotch whiskies in the Lost Distillery Company series, where they try to revive the names of some of the Scotch whisky distilleries lost a long time ago. It also blends and bottles Six Saints Rum from Grenada. The Rum & Can is a relatively new project, under which some premium rums from the Caribbean and other locations are selected and bottled.
Rum & Cane French Overseas XO is a blend of rums agricole (made from fresh sugar cane juice) from Riviére du Mât distillery on Reunion and Le Galion in Martinique. They matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, but also in French oak ones.
Nose: Oak, cinnamon, sugar cane, vegetal notes, caramel.
Palate: Tropical fruits, raisins, liquorice, crème brulee, dried fruits.
Finish: Caramel, raisins, plums, cistrus.
