The history of J. Wray & Nephew began in 1825 when The Shakespeare Tavern was founded in Kingston, Jamaica.
In 1860, John Wray was joined by his nephew Charles James Ward, and the business grew into something more than just one of the leading establishments in the capital of Jamaica. The turning point for the company was the purchase of the Appleton estate, one of the oldest and most famous sugar cane plantations in Jamaica. The company is now part of the Campari group. Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum is the company's flagship product, one of the best-selling rums in the strong rum category.
Nose : Fruity, with notes of pineapple, ripe bananas, orange peel and coconut.
Taste: Caramel, nuts, molasses, bananas, tropical fruits.
Finish : Long, fruity.
