Product description
Bacardí Carta Blanca Rum is a white rum, the recipe of which – according to reports – Don Facundo worked on for a whole decade. Ideal for all kinds of rum-based cocktails. It does not dominate the taste of the mixture, but subtly emphasizes it. In its bouquet we will find clear accents of vanilla and almonds, accompanied by delicate oak. The history of the Bacardí brand, the world's largest private alcohol company, began in 1862, when Facundo Bacardí Massó, together with his brother José, founded a distillery in Santiago de Cuba.
Bats lived in the attic of the distillery building, and the image of one of them soon became a symbol of the brand. The bat in the Bacardi logo became an important element for recognizing the brand in the face of widespread illiteracy in the 19th century. When the communist revolution came to Cuba, the Bacardí family opposed the dictatorship of Fidel Castro. Their property located in Cuba was confiscated in October 1960. However, they managed to protect themselves by transferring part of their property, recipes, ownership of trademarks, etc. to the Bahamas and building distilleries in Puerto Rico and Mexico. Finally, in 1965, the brand's new headquarters was established in Hamilton, Bahamas, and the company's main production plant is located in Cataño, Puerto Rico.
