Product description
The history of Gosling rum began in 1806, when James Gosling, eldest son of wine and spirits merchant William Gosling, went on a voyage overseas.
In the holds of the ship he took with him goods worth 10 thousand pounds. The voyage was not helped at all by the prevailing calm on the ocean. The ship finally reached the port of Hamilton in Bermuda, where James settled and with his brother Ambrose rented a shop. This shop operated continuously for 127 years. There, in 1857, the first Gosling brothers rum was created, later called Black Seal, after the black wax used to secure the closure of the bottles.
Gosling's Gold Seal Rum is an amber-colored, light rum created more than 100 years after the dark rum recipe was created. It is a blend of Bermuda-made spirits from both stills and columns, matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels for approximately five years.
