Product description
In the 1950s there were two rum factories operating on the island of Saint Lucia.
They joined their forces in 1972 and thus created Saint Lucia Distillers Group, a company that runs the only distillery operating currently on the island, located in the valley of Roseau. In 2007 a part of the distillery was devoured by a fire which destroyed its laboratory and blending facilities. In time, the island’s sugar cane plantations were replaced by banana plantations, which forced the distillery to import from Guyana. Recently, however, the company purchased five acres of land on which to run a sugar cane plantation.
Chairman’s Reserve Original is a blend of spirits from column still and traditional pot stills. Its rich, fruity bouquet offers notes of raisins, oak, spice and caramel.
