Product description
In 1952, a group of wine producers from the Merano area founded the Meran Cellar cooperative to improve the quality and efficiency of production. It soon brought together 200 vineyard owners cultivating vines on 140 hectares. A turning point in the history of Meran Cellar came in 1992, when Stefan Kapfinger took over as head of production. He did a titanic job of testing vineyards and deciding which ones to assign to the cultivation of a specific grape variety, and also devoted a lot of time working on improving the quality of the wines produced. In June 2010, Meran Cellar completed a business merger with another local cooperative operating since 1901, Burggräfler Winery. The new formation is called Meran Burggräfler Winery and brings together 380 producers with a total area of 260 hectares of vines. Graf von Meran is an exclusive series of ten wines, six white and four red, produced from the best grapes and aged in the winery's cellars for several months.
Graf von Meran Weissburgunder is produced from 100% Pinot Blanc. The grapes come from vineyards in Tirolo, Lagund and Cermes located at an altitude of 400-600 m above sea level.
It is a wine with an elegant and rich bouquet, with notes of ripe apples, apricots, grapefruit, a touch of almonds and candied ginger and a subtle mineral note.
Serve at 10-12ºC with seafood, baked halibut, spaghetti and baked poultry. Ready to drink from now until 2021.
