Product description
The Beyer family has been vine-growers in Eguisheim, the cradle of the Alsace wine-producing region, since 1580. In 1867 Emile Beyer founded the Maison de Vin d’Alsace, the winery currently run by Léon Beyer and his son Marc, who took over the reins from his father in 1959. Léon Beyer offers full range of Alsace wines, mainly Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris, many of which are served in the finest restaurants of France, including Michelin 3-stars, and other European countries. The company cultivates vine on the slopes of Eguisheim and surrounding area as well as sources them from the local vine-growers renowned for quality of their production. The present day Eguisheim vine cultivation area with more than 300 hectares is one of the most extensive in all of Alsace. It is shared between multiple independent estates and the omnipresent Eguisheim cooperative. The Maison Beyer vineyards comprise roughly 20 hectares.
Léon Beyer Riesling 2016 is a signature wine of the region.
Refined and delicately fruity, with an elegant bouquet of mineral and mildly floral notes – violets, licorice, peaches, grapefruits, lemon tart and orange zest. Makes great pairing with seafood when chilled to 10ºC.
